Lucky Red

Lucky Red

Joelle Renee Benoliel

The color red was culturally very important in Imperial China. Present at weddings, court hearings, coronation ceremonies, and sacrificial offerings, it represented nobility. Still to this day, the Chinese consider red to be the color of luck, joy and fire. A symbol of passion, red can conjure a sense of power and attraction. The Chinese aren’t the only ones paying attention to the red persuasion this season. Louis Vuitton, Balmain, AF Vandevorst, Zac Posen, J.Mendel, Dolce and Gabbana all sent fire red looks down their SS 2015 runways.

And why not indulge in a color worthy of empowerment and good fortune?
