I'll be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree
Won't be the same dear, if you're not here with me…
The fall / winter runways took a note from Elvis for the holidays. Blues were in abundance from the decadent, feathered navy numbers at Alexander McQueen to an ocean of layered tones at Topshop Unique. Aganovich took their statement asymmetrical jacket to a teal-tinged grey blue while Altuzarra and Alice + Olivia went bright, shining azure. The New York and Paris streets were also teeming with the fashion crew scooping the new blue wave.
Gucci channeled swinging sixties London with their muted grey blues in dresses, suits and jackets. Wouldn't you love to own some of the originals? We found a 1930's art deco necklace, 50's wool / fur coats and vintage denim. There's a stunning sixties brocade lamé gown, some vintage wool sweaters and few second hand designer picks like Reed Krakoff snakeskin boots and a Rachel Comey handbag so you can indulge in different eras of this new sapphire stained movement.
And we can all make it a blue… blue blue blue Christmas.
